New projects: Textiles- Constructed Techniques
1) Paper Weaving

Tabby structure
-Tabby is a woven structure in which one weft thread is carried over one warp thread and under the next.
-alternate between raising shafts in evens or odds-1/3 or 2/4
1/3 twill structure
-Woven twills are made when one shaft is raised at a time, which means that the weft goes under one warp thread and then over three.
-raising shafts in this order: 1 / 2 / 3 / 4.
2/2 twill structure
-Balanced twill
-Made when the weft goes under two warps and then over two warps.
-This is done by raising shafts in this order: 1,2 / 2,3 / 3,4 / 4,1
8 end-satin structure
-Satin weave has long warp floats which create a smooth fabric that is soft and drapes well.
- For 8 End Satin the weft travels under 7 warp threads before going over one.
